ORDINANCE NO. 26-24 INTRODUCED BY: Ms. Maier AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING A CONTRACT WITH MOTOROLA SOLUTIONS TO PURCHASE RADIO EQUIPMENT FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, the City of Bay Village is in need of updated radio equipment to support the everyday functions of the Police Department; and WHEREAS, the City of Bay Village has entered into a cooperative purchasing program with the State of Ohio to participate in State contracts which the Department of Administrative Services, Office of State Purchasing, has entered into for the purchase of supplies, services, equipment and certain material pursuant to ORC §125.04, as authorized by Resolution No. 88-33 passed January 4, 1988; and WHEREAS, the State of Ohio has, after public bidding, determined that Motorola Solutions, Ltd. is the best bidder for radio equipment and has awarded them the contract number 21336 under State Term Schedule Number 534628; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Bay Village, Ohio: SECTION 1. That the Mayor is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Motorola Solutions to purchase radio equipment for the Police Department at a price not to exceed One Hundred Two Thousand Seven Hundred Fifty-Seven Dollars and Eleven Cents ($102,757.11). SECTION 2. That it is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the adoption of this ordinance were adopted in an open meeting of Council, and that all deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements, including Section 121.11 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 3. That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare, and for the further reasons stated in the preamble hereof, wherefore this ordinance shall be in full force and take effect immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. ~ LttobtA.
