CITY OF BROOKLYN, OHIO RESOLUTION NO. 2025-15 INTRODUCED BY: Mosley, ; ele@he (tee Bovowsks, TARSK 1, Cvodek, AMENDING RESOLUTION 2025-2 BY AMENDING THE AGE REQUIREMENT FOR THE YOUTH ENGAGEMENT AND SUCCESSION (YES) COMMITTEE; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS, Council has found it necessary to amend Resolution 2025-2 by amending the required age for the Youth Engagement and Succession (YES) Committee from fourteen (14) to thirteen (13) years of age; WHEREAS, Council desires to provide for this amendment. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1. Resolution 2025-2 is hereby amended as follows: Cc. The Youth Engagement and Succession (YES) Committee must have at least five and not more than 10 members, all of whom shall be Brooklyn residents between the ages of +4 73 and 19 at the time of appointment. The Mavor shall appoint up to three members of the committee by written notification to Council, and Council shall appoint up to seven members. The committee shall be considered formed once at least five members are appointed. SECTION 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. SECTION 3. This Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure for the reasons stated in its preamble; and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds (2/3) of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
