CITY OF BROOKLYN, OHIO RESOLUTION NO. 2025-19 INTRODUCED BY: Mayor Van Kirk, Borowski, Tanski, Grodek, Pucci, Coyle APPROVING THE MAYOR OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN TO APPLY FOR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT FUNDS FOR THE SENIOR CENTER PARKING LOT ADA IMPROVEMENT PROJECT WHEREAS, the application for assistance is to be submitted for Community Block Grant Funds for up to $150,000 for the Senior Center Parking Lot ADA Improvement Project; and WHEREAS, the Mayor, City Council, and City Administration believe that this project will enhance the vibrancy of the City of Brooklyn for all residents and improve the property values of residents in the area; and WHEREAS, all applications for projects to be funded under the Competitive Municipal Program must be approved by resolution of the Council of the applying municipality. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BROOKLYN, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1. The Council of the City of Brooklyn hereby approves the Application attached as Exhibit A to be submitted for funding under the Competitive Municipal Program. SECTION 2. That it is found and determined that all formal actions of the Council of the City of Brooklyn concerning and relating to the adoption of this Resolution were adopted in an open meeting of such body, and that all deliberations of the Council of the City of Brooklyn and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public, in compliance with all legal requirements including Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. SECTION 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure dealing with the health, safety, and welfare of the City, and for further reason that it must meet the timelines outlined by the Cuyahoga County Department of Development to be considered by said Department for approving competitive grants under the Community Development Grant program, and provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- thirds (2/3) of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor; otherwise, it shall take effect and be in force from and after the earliest period allowed by law.
