Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance The regular meeting of Brunswick City Council was called to order by Mayor
Ron Falconi at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Complex.
Roll Call of Members showed the following Council Members present: Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert,
Michael Abella Jr., Keith Kuczma, Joseph Delsanter, Tim Smith, Kristy Piper.
Others Present: Mayor Ron Falconi, City Manager/Safety Director Carl DeForest, Law Director Ken Fisher,
Clerk of Council Laura Timura.

Approval of Regular Council Meeting Minutes dated October 23, 2023. Nicholas Hanek moved to approve

Mayor's Report:
Proclamation in recognition of Diwali:
Mayor Falconi presented a proclamation to BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir to commemorate Diwali.
Mayor's Court Financial Report for the month ending October 2023 will be posted on the website and added
to the minutes for the record.
Mayor's recommendation to reappoint Denise Arnaud to the Ethics Board:

City Manager's Report Carl Deforest thanked members of the community for their support of the road levy
renewal. He added that this would be an investment in the future infrastructure of the City.
He went on to thank the VFW and American Legion for the Veterans Day Ceremony that was held at City Hall
on Saturday. Mr. Deforest was appreciative of those who attended to show respect, consideration,
admiration, and appreciation for our veterans.
Open Forum lisimba Patilla (4015 Alameda Court, Medina, Ohio) stated that the American Red Cross is the
source of 100% of swim instructor training. He indicated that 128 million Americans and 50% of Brunswick
citizens are afraid of deep water. Mr. Patilla informed that he overcame swimming anxiety after a nearÂ
drowning incident at 12 years old. At 40 years old, he overcame his anxiety and completed his first triathlon.
Mr. Patil la announced that he was one of the top triathlon athletes in the world. His hope was to make a
difference with the program he developed called Tri720. There is no cost to implement the program. His
program offers free instructor certification and Q&A clinics to recreation center members. He would pay
swim instructors $60 an hour and provide 12 coaching sessions. Mr. Patilla would share 20% of his profits
with the City of Brunswick. He helps people overcome their swimming anxiety and become swimmers who
live a safer and healthier life.

New Business Keith Kuczma thanked the Ward 4 residents for their trust and support. He proclaimed that
he would continue to work hard for not only Ward 4 residents, but the Brunswick community as a whole.
Mr. Kuczma thanked his family and friends for their help and support during his campaign.
Kristy Piper announced that the Food Pantry is in need of donations, with the exception of canned green
beans and corn. Joseph Delsanter added that donations of paper products are greatly needed.
Nicholas Hanek pointed out that residents were in attendance at the meeting to ensure that Council and the
Administration continue to rise up against the 1-71 interchange on Boston Road.
A liquor permit request from Par Mar Oil Co, at 2155 Pearl Road, Brunswick, Ohio 44212:
Mr. DeForest stated that there were no objections from the Administration.
