                                   MINUTES OF COUNCIL 

                                     Monday, April 8, 2024 


Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance The regular meeting of Brunswick City Council was called to order by Mayor 
Ron Falconi at 7:04 p.m. at the Municipal Complex. 

Roll Call of Members showed the following Council Members present: Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert, 
Michael Abella Jr., Keith Kuczma, Tim Smith, Kristy Piper. 

Others Present: Mayor Ron Falconi, City Manager/Safety Director Carl DeForest, Law Director Dennis Nevar, 
Clerk of Council Laura Timura. 

Nicholas Hanek moved to excuse Joseph Delsanter for just cause shown, seconded by Brandon Lambert. Roll 
Call - Ayes - 6, Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert, Michael Abella Jr., Keith Kuczma, Tim Smith, Kristy Piper.

Approval of Regular Council Meeting Minutes dated March 25, 2024. Nicholas Hanek moved to approve the 
Regular Council Meeting Minutes dated March 25, 2024, as written, seconded by Kristy Piper. Roll Call - Ayes

Mayor's Report: 
Mayor's Court Financial Report for the month ending March 2024 will be posted on the website and added 
to the minutes for the record. 

Certificate of Achievement for St. Ambrose 4th Grade Girls Basketball Team: 

Mayor Falconi presented a Certificate of Achievement to recognize St. Ambrose 4th Grade Girls Basketball 
Team's efforts in the tournament they won, defeating St. Bartholomew. 

Proclamation in recognition of Brunswick High School Varsity Boys Basketball Team's Championship wins: 

Mayor Falconi presented a proclamation to recognize the Brunswick High School Varsity Boys Basketball 
Team's remarkable success during the 2023-24 season. The coach noted that the team had a historical 
season and he was thankful to the community for supporting these great kids. 

Proclamation in recognition of Katie Porach's noble actions to assist a fellow citizen: 

A proclamation was presented to Katie Porach in recognition of her swift and selfless actions to assist a 
fellow citizen. Katie Porach thanked the Medina County Career Center for providing the training needed to 
revive the customer and Meijer Corporation for their support. She encouraged others to get CPR training.

City Manager's Report Mr. DeForest relayed that branch chipping will begin the week of April 22. Residents 
are asked to have their branches out the morning of their trash collection with the cut end facing the street. 
Thts will occur again in the fall. 

He reminded that park cleanup and tree planting would occur on Saturday, April 20, at Pumpkin Ridge Park 
off Grafton Road. This will run from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. 

The Tax Office will be open on Saturday, April 13, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. to assist with the completion of 
income taxes by the deadline of April 15.
