Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance The regular meeting of Brunswick City Council was called to order by Mayor
Ron Falconi at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Complex.
Roll Call of Members showed the following Council Members present: Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert,
Michael Abella Jr., Keith Kuczma, Joseph Delsanter, Tim Smith, Kristy Piper.
Others Present: Mayor Ron Falconi, City Manager/Safety Director Carl DeForest, Law Director Dennis Nevar,
Clerk of Council Laura Timura.

Mayor's Report:
Proclamation in recognition of the Fire Medic of the Year :
Mayor Falconi presented a proclamation to commend Fire Medic of the Year, Bradley Weitz.
Certificate of Achievement for St. Ambrose 4th Grade Boys Basketball Team:
Mayor Falconi presented a proclamation recognizing St. Ambrose 4th Grade Boys Basketball Team's efforts in
the tournament they won, defeating St. Peter of Lorain.
Proclamation in recognition of Apraxio Awareness Day:
A proclamation was presented to Chelsea Boytim to recognize May 14 as Apraxia Awareness Day in the City
of Brunswick.
Clerk of Council's Report Mrs. Timura noted that May is Safety Month and the first week of May is Municipal
Clerks Week.

City Manager's Report Mr. DeForest relayed that a Memorial Day program and parade will start at 9 a.m. at
the Brunswick Middle School. This will include a ceremony and a short parade to the cemetery. Those
w ~shing to get involved should contact Pat Finn at (216) 272&4361.
He reminded that solicitors are required to have permits, carry them with them, and be able to show them
when asked. No soliciting signs are available in the lobby and on the City's website.
He went on to thank Mary Vantz for her test ~ mony in Columbus and the rest of the Homes not Highways
group for their support. Mr. DeForest encouraged them to continue to contact elected officials in Columbus.
Open Forum Mary Vantz (78 Duxbury Lane) spoke on behalf of Homes not Highways and thanked everyone
for their unwavering support. She and the rest of the Homes not Highways group were appreciative and
thankful for both the Council's and the Administration's support. Ms. Vantz revealed that the group has been
to Columbus four times to testify.
Unfinished Business Mr. Hanek felt Mary Vantz's testimony in Columbus was outstanding and she was a
great representative for the City.
New Business Councilman Smith noted that the Daisies Girl Scout group was present at the meeting. They
were in attendance to work toward their Democracy for Daisies badge. He then informed that the Optimist
Fishing Derby would be held on May 11 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Brunswick Lake. Those 16 years of
age and younger are welcome to participate.
