Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance The regular meeting of Brunswick City Council was called to order by Vice
Mayor Nicholas Hanek at 7:01 p.m. at the Municipal Complex.
Roll Call of Members showed the following Council Members present: Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert,
Keith Kuczma, Joseph Delsanter, Tim Smith, Kristy Piper.
Others Present: City Manager/Safety Director Carl DeForest, Law Director Dennis Nevar, Clerk of Council
Laura Timura.
Brandon Lambert moved to excuse Mayor Falconi and Michael Abella Jr. for just cause, seconded by Kristy
Piper. Roll Call-Ayes - 6, Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert, Keith Kuczma, Joseph Delsanter, Tim Smith,
Kristy Piper. Nays - O. Motion Carried.
Correspondence There was none.
Approval of Special Council Meeting Minutes dated July 15, 2024. Joseph Delsanter moved to approve the
Special Council Meeting Minutes dated July 15, 2024, as written, seconded by Tim Smith. Roll Call - Ayes - 6,
Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert, Keith Kuczma, Joseph Delsanter, Tim Smith, Kristy Piper. Nays - 0. Motion
Carried.
Mayor's Report:
Proclamation in recognition of Tyler Zereski's Eagle Scout achievement:
Vice Mayor Hanek presented a proclamation in recognition of Tyler Zereski's Eagle Scout achievement and
his support to the family preservation crisis nursery, Providence House.
Motion to approve Mayor's recommendation to appoint Aaron Brock/er to the Juvenile Diversion Board:
Joseph Delsanter moved to appoint Aaron Brockler to the Juvenile Diversion Board, seconded by Keith
Kuczma. Roll Call - Ayes - 6, Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert, Keith Kuczma, Joseph Delsanter, Tim Smith,
Kristy Piper. Nays - 0. Motion Carried.
Mayor's Update:
Vice Mayor Hanek announced that Council and the Administration are currently working with Cleveland
Water to determine the best path forward. He informed that Cleveland Water would be conducting a study
to determine the causes and develop long-term solutions to the problem. Cleveland Water owns the pipes
and operates them entirely. The City is in a long-term agreement in which Cleveland Water maintains
operation and control. Mr. Hanek was thankful that Cleveland Water attended the Committee-of-the-Whole
meeting and the City looks forward to being provided further information. The City will continue working
with Cleveland Water to resolve the matter, as soon as possible.
Mr. Hanek recognized that Homes not Highways were in attendance and had attended meetings for over a
year.

City Manager's Report Mr. DeForest reminded members of the community that the Parks and Recreation
planning workshop will be next Monday, July 29, between 5 p.m. and 8 p.m. He encouraged residents to
attend at the Recreation Center and provide their input for the Parks Master Plan. This will guide in
developing the City's parks over the next 5-7 years. National Night Out will be hosted by Brunswick Police
and Fire on Tuesday, August 6, at 5 :30 p.m. in the front of City Hall.
Shredding day will be Saturday, September 7, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the City Hall parking lot. Brunswick
residents are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for donation to the local food bank. A
maximum of 4 sealed boxes will be accepted. The truck will receive the boxes and shred them offsite.
The Veteran's Breakfast will be held on Wednesday, October 23 at St. Ambrose Church. Veterans are
encouraged to RSVP by contacting the City Manager's Office at 330-558-6826. The breakfast is offered in
thanks to local veterans.

Open Forum There was none.
Unfinished Business Mrs. Piper reminded that the Summer Music Concert series was still in progress. The
country genre band 42 South will perform on Wednesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Recreation Center.
Mr. Delsanter explained that the City is not prohibiting the residential raising of chickens. If anyone has
questions, they are free to contact him. Last week's Planning & Zoning Committee was held in response to
complaints that involved one or two addresses. He was grateful for the community participation at the
meeting.
