City Manager's Report Mr. DeForest wished everyone a very Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy 2025.
Open Forum James Evanoff (3649 Ascot Drive) declared that Am. Senate Bill 155 will die in the Ohio
Assembly, causing the City and residents to have to restart their efforts in the coming year. Mr. Evanoff
voiced that he would continue to fight to oppose the freeway. He felt that if this law stood, other cities
would try to force an interchange on surrounding communities.

------------
Unfinished Business Mr_ Lambert felt t hat political favors were being exchanged in Columbus. The City
would continue to fight behind Councilman Hanek's strong leadership. He stated Mr. Hanek was involved
and engaged with people in Columbus daily. Mr. Lambert and other members of the Council would continue
to go to Columbus to continue the fight. They would not back down and they would win- It would just take
more time than expected.
Mr. Hanek announced that Council and the City would not stop fighting the interchange as it is important for
the future of the City. The bill passed the Ohio Senate, it passed the Committee in the Ohio House and is
being held up unilaterally by the Speaker of the Ohio House. He asked that the Speaker of the House seize
the opportunity to do a good, unequivocal thing to stop the heartbreak of what happens when people lose
their homes_ His plea was that the Speaker would have a heart and recognize that not passing this bill would
be a mistake. He concluded that the City would never stop fighting and would eventually win_ He felt this
was an obstacle, but it was not the end.
Mr. Delsanter noted that Speaker of the House, Jason Stephens, supported his benefactor, Representative
Tom Patton. Mr_ Delsanter revealed the Speaker had no quantifiable reason to do this other than the fact
that one person requested him to. Mr. Delsanter felt that these two individuals were causing pain to
thousands of people with no justifiable goa⢠on the other end. He explained that every study conducted for
the project revealed that it is not a fit for where it is and it creates a hardship and negative impact for all
stakeholders along the corridor. He thanked everyone in attendance who continued to fight and hoped they
would enjoy the holidays despite this.
New Business Mr. Smith cited that he enjoyed residents' creative Christmas decorations, including the City's
snowflakes_ He wished everyone a great Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Mayor Falconi thanked Homes not Highways for all their work over the past year. He agreed that the City
would continue to fight and would win. He then wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous and
happy 2025 on behalf of his wife, Jenny, and his children.
Adjournment Nicholas Hanek moved to adjourn, seconded by Tim Smith. Roll Call - Ayes - 7, Nicholas Hanek,
Brandon Lambert, Michael Abella Jr., Keith Kuczma, Joseph Delsanter, Tim Smith, Kristy Piper. Nays - O.
Motion Carried.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:27 p.m.

Laura Timura, CMC
