City Manager's Report Mr. DeForest reminded that Trick or Treat will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, October
(_ 31, 2024. Those driving in residential areas should be cognizant of pedestrians and drive slowly. He then
invited the community to the American Legion VFW Veterans Day ceremony which will be occurring on
Monday, November 11at11 a.m. at City Hall. A retired Army Sergeant and member of Homes not Highways
will be the guest speaker and share his experience in the special forces.
Open Forum There was none.
Unfinished Business Mr. Delsanter reiterated that Brunswick City School's Issue 14 should be supported as it
pays salaries in the Brunswick City School system. This renewal originated in 1994 and residents' tax dollars
go down per property as the City of Brunswick grows. The state of Ohio contributes 12.5% of the value of
the tax revenue to the school system. If the levy is not renewed, a loss of 12.5% will go into effect and the
payment of teacher salaries will be difficult. He thanked Mayor Falconi for the recognition that was given at
the meeting and everyone for their contribution to their causes.
Mr. Lambert noted there were five representatives from Homes not Highways in attendance. He stated that
he had spoken with State Representative Miller and County Commissioner Harrison, who both relayed that it
was a privilege, joy, and honor to work with the Homes not Highways group. Mr. Lambert concurred with
their comments and thanked the group for everything they have done as well as their continuing presence.
New Business There was none.
