                                  MINUTES OF COUNCIL 
                                  Monday, February 24, 2025 


 Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance The regular meeting of Brunswick City Council was called to order by 
 Mayor Ron Falconi at 7:00 p.m. at the Municipal Complex. 
 Roll Call of Members showed the following Council Members present: Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert, 
 Michael Abella Jr., Keith Kuczma, Joseph Delsanter, Tim Smith, Kristy Piper. 

 Others Present: Mayor Ron Falconi, City Manager/Safety Director Carl DeForest, law Director Dennis 
 Nevar, Clerk of Council Laura Timura. 
 Correspondence  There was none. 
 Approval of Regular Council Meeting Minutes 
 Regular Council Meeting Minutes dated February 10, 2025: 

 Nicholas Hanek moved to approve the Regular Council Meeting Minutes dated February 10, 2025, as 
 written, seconded by Joseph De1santer. Roll Call -Ayes - 7, Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert, Michael 
 Abella Jr., Keith Kuczma, Joseph Delsanter, Tim Smith, Kristy Piper. Nays - 0. Motion Carried. 
 Mayor's Report: 
 Mayor Falconi recommended the reappointment of Stanley Socha and Vincent Carl to the Board of Zoning 
 Appeals and the appointment of Nate Witsaman to the Financial Audit, Review & Advisory Committee. If 
 Council has any questions regarding these recommendations, they can contact the Mayor. 

 Motion to appoint James Evanoff Jr. to the Financial Audit, Review & Advisory Committee: 

 Joseph Delsanter moved to appoint James Evanoff Jr. to the Financial Audit, Review & Advisory 
 Committee, seconded by Nicholas Hanek. Roll Call - Ayes - 7, Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert, Michael 
 Abella Jr., Keith Kuczma, Joseph Delsanter, Tim Smith, Kristy Piper. Nays - 0. Motion Carried. 

 Motion to appoint James Evanoff Jr. to the Medina County Community Improvement Board to fulfill an 
 unexpired term expiring March 7, 2025, and to fulfill a three-year term expiring March 7, 2028: 

 Joseph Delsanter moved to appoint James Evanoff Jr. to the Medina County Community Improvement 
 Board to fulfill an unexpired term expiring March 7, 2025, and to fulfill a three-year term expiring March 7, 
 2028, seconded by Kristy Piper. Roll Call -Ayes - 7, Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert, Michael Abella Jr.,

Motion to reappoint Nancy Zelei and Carl DeForest to the Medina County Community Improvement Board to

 RES. NO. 24-2025 -An emergency resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into Partnership 
 Agreement with Medina County, the City of Medina and the City of Wadsworth for the submission of a 
 Community Housing Impact and Preservation Program Grant Application for Program Year 2025. - 1st

 Piper. Nays - 0. Motion Carried. 
 City Manager's Report Mr. DeForest relayed that the E-file and E-pay income tax portals are now open and 
 can be accessed via the City's website, www.brunswick.oh.us. Appointments are not necessary for income 
 tax assistance. The Income Tax Department is available between 8:30 a.m. and S p.m. He stated that the 
 closer it is to April 15, the longer the waiting time will be. Mr. DeForest reminded that American flags can 
 be retired in a white box with a flag located by the Mayor's Court. These flags are properly collected and 
 destroyed by members of the VFW and American Legion during a ceremony held in late spring. 
 Open Forum There was none. 
 Unfinished Business There was none. 
 New Business Mrs. Piper mentioned that Woven with Promise will hold a prom dress giveaway on February 
 28 and March 1. Chardon Polka Band will be coming to the Recreation Center on March 2. The pool party 
 was rescheduled for March 14 from 4-6 p.m. This event will include rubber ducks and Mrs. Piper will be the

 DJ. Funkology's disco party was rescheduled for March 16. Mr. Smith asked what time the Polka Band and 
 Funkology would occur. Mr. Kuczma confirmed that it was 2-4 p.m.
