                                  Monday,   October  27, 2025


Prayer and Pledge of Allegiance The regular meeting of Brunswick City Council was called to order by
Mayor Ron Falconi at 7:01 p.m. at the Municipal Complex.

Roll Call of Members showed the following Council Members present: Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert,
Michael Abella Jr., Keith Kuczma, Joseph Delsanter, Tim Smith, Kristy Piper.

Others Present: Mayor Ron Falconi, City Manager/Safety Director Carl DeForest, Law Director Dennis Nevar,
Clerk of Council Laura Timura.

Approval of Regular Council Meeting Minutes

Mayor’s Report:
Proclamation declaring October 2025 Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy Awareness Month:

Mayor Falconi presented a proclamation proclaiming October SUDEP Awareness Month. Nick Brossard
expressed his gratitude and explained his family’s desire to increase awareness of SUDEP as well as seizure
detection devices.
Proclamation proclaiming November CRPS/RSD Awareness Month:

Victoria Coffey accepted a proclamation from Mayor Falconi in recognition of CRPS/RSD Awareness
Month. She detailed the symptoms of the disease and referred to it as the Suicide Disease, which involves a
highly debilitating level of pain.
Motion to reappoint Steven Girard to the Ethics Board retroactive to October 24, 2025:

Joseph Delsanter moved to reappoint Steven Girard to the Ethics Board retroactive to October 24, 2025,
seconded by Brandon Lambert. Roll Call - Ayes -7, Nicholas Hanek, Brandon Lambert, Michael Abella Jr.,

 Mr. Hanek noted that Resolutions 90-2025 and 91-2025 are related to a water main replacement on 303
 between Garfield and Troon. Council and the Administration are hopeful that this wiH rectify the water
 main break issues. The Administration has worked with Cleveland Water for several months. Cleveland
Water  will reimburse the costs associated with Resolution Number 90-2025 with the City covering the
 paving costs reflected in Resolution Number 91-2025. Mr. Hanek was thankful for all the Administrations
 hard work.

 RES. NO. 91-2025 - An emergency resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into an agreement with
 Specialized Construction, Inc. for the Center Road Resurfacing Project in an amount not to exceed
 $292,272.00. - 1st Reading (To be brought from Services, Utilities, Technology & Cable Committee,
Administration/Jenny Zoidok);

 ORD. NO. 94-2025 - An ordinance repealing and replacing Sections 1468.04 and 1468.05 of the City of
 Brunswick Codified Ordinances. - 1st Reading (To be brought from Building & Building Code Committee,
 Administrotion/Grant Aunqst):

 Mr. Abella moved this ordinance to second reading.
 City Manager’s Report Mr. DeForest thanked everyone who volunteered to help with the Veteran’s
 Breakfast that was held at St. Ambrose. He revealed that approximately 115 veterans participated. He
 reminded that the ribbon cutting and Open House for the new fire station would occur on Saturday,

  November 8 from noon to 3 p.m. Those nterested in attending were asked to park behind the Brunswick
  High School and utilize the shuttle buses. Subsequent open houses will occur to show the community
 appreciation for their support. Mr. DeForest added that the American Legion and VFW will host a Veteran’s
  Day Ceremony at City Hall on November11 at 11a.m. Leaf pickup will be starting this week. He asked
  residents to refer to the City’s website for pickup updates. Trick or Treat will occur rain or shine on Friday,
  October31 from 6p.m. to 8p.m. The Police Department’s Pumpkin Patrol will be in residential areas.
  Mr. DeForest asked residents to drive slowly and watch for children.
 Open  Forum There was none.
  Unfinished Business Tim Smith congratulated City Manager DeForest on the Community Advocate Award
  he received from the Medina County Economic Development Corporation.
  New Business

  Consideration of a new liquor permit request from Saied Restaurants LLC DBA Nikos to Go at 3840 Center
  Road, Brunswick, Ohio 44212:

  There were no objections from the Administration.
