1 2 CITY OF WESTLAKE, OHIO 3 ORDINANCE NO. 2026-23: 4 5 AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO 6 PURCHASE ONE (1) NEW MODEL YEAR 7 CHEVROLET SILVERADO PICK-UP TRUCK WITH 8 SELECTED OPTIONS AND SAFETY EQUIPMENT 9 FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, AND DECLARING 10 AN EMERGENCY. 11 ______________________________________________________________________________ 12 13 WHEREAS, this Council, by Ordinance No. 1987-50, authorized the Mayor, under the 14 Ohio Cooperative Purchase Act, to purchase supplies, service equipment and materials, through 15 participation in State Contracts with the Ohio Department of Administrative Services; and 16 WHEREAS, the Director of Purchasing has advised this Council that the City can 17 purchase one (1) New Model Year Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4 PPV with selected options 18 needed for the Police Department from the State of Ohio Cooperative Purchasing Program, 19 Contract No. RS1033952, Contract ID 33952, Index No. GDC050 and police safety equipment 20 through the open market. 21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 22 WESTLAKE, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: 23 Section 1: That the Mayor be and hereby is authorized to purchase one (1) New Model 24 Year Chevrolet Silverado 1500 4x4 PPV with selected options from for the Police Department 25 through the State of Ohio, Department of Administrative Service – Office of Purchasing under the 26 Ohio Cooperative Purchasing Act, RS1033952, Contract ID 33952, Index No. GDC050, at the 27 prices provided in accordance with the State of Ohio Contracts and additional police safety 28 equipment through the open market from Iron Bull Bumpers, LLC as follows: 29 Qty. Cordell Street Casa Grande, Arizona 85194 Police Safety Equipment Open Market $ 4,200.00 Total Vehicle Acquisition: $69,189.75 30 Section 2: That the Director of Finance be and he is hereby authorized and directed to 31 issue warrants of the City of Westlake for said vehicle with options and equipment to the suppliers 32 listed in Section 1 above in a total amount not to exceed the sum of Sixty-Nine Thousand Five 33 Hundred Dollars and Zero Cents ($69,500.00). 34 Section 3: That it is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council 35 concerning and relating to this legislation were adopted in an open meeting of this Council and 36 that all deliberations of this Council and any of its committees that resulted in such formal action 37 were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements including Section 38 10, Article XI of the Charter of the City of Westlake and Section 121.22 of the Ohio Revised Code. 39 Section 4: That this legislation is hereby declared to be an emergency measure 40 immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the 41 further reason that it is immediately necessary to provide for the efficiency and continuation of 42 services by the Police Department, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two- 43 thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its 44 passage and approval by the Mayor. 45 46 Passed: ____________________________________ 47 David S.
