CITY OF WESTLAKE, OHIO RESOLUTION NO. 2026-33: A RESOLUTION COMMENDING DYLAN T. HUNTER FOR ACHIEVING THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT. ______________________________________________________________________________ WHEREAS, Dylan T. Hunter has been found worthy of the rank of Eagle Scout having completed the requirements and having been examined by the Eagle Scout Board of Review; and WHEREAS, Dylan’s leadership and commitment to the community has been exemplified by completing many Eagle Scout duties and projects; and WHEREAS, Dylan’s Eagle Scout project was the planning, coordinating, supervising, construction and installation of an American Flag Retirement Box located in the lobby of the Westlake Porter Public Library; and WHEREAS, Dylan participates in lacrosse, hockey, cross country, track, and swimming, played the viola in two orchestras, was president of Westlake High School's French Club, worked part-time at the local pool and country club, and studied to complete his high school diploma. He received an NROTC scholarship and plans to pursue a career in the United States Navy. He looks forward to attending Rochester Institute of Technology in the fall of 2026 as a freshman studying Mechanical Engineering; and WHEREAS, Dylan has been an example to his peers through his hard work, leadership, discipline, and loyalty to his Scout Troop 225. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WESTLAKE, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: Section 1: That the Mayor and the Council of the City of Westlake hereby commend Dylan T. Hunter on the occasion of receiving the rank of Eagle Scout. Section 2: That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed to forward a signed copy of this Resolution to Dylan T. Hunter. Section 3: That it is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to this legislation were adopted in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and of any of its Committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements, including Section 10, Article XI of the Charter of the City of Westlake.
