CITY OF WESTLAKE, OHIO RESOLUTION NO. 2026-34: A RESOLUTION COMMENDING ANDREW BEDELL FOR ACHIEVING THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT. ______________________________________________________________________________ WHEREAS, Andrew Bedell has been found worthy of the rank of Eagle Scout having completed the requirements and having been examined by the Eagle Scout Board of Review; and WHEREAS, Andrew’s leadership and commitment to the community has been exemplified by completing many Eagle Scout duties and projects; and WHEREAS, Andrew’s Eagle Scout project was the planning, organizing, funding and leading the construction and staining of three handcrafted wooden benches which were strategically placed along St. Bernadette Parish’s outdoor Stations of the Cross providing parishioners and visitors a welcoming place for prayer, contemplation and rest; and WHEREAS, Andrew has twice served on staff for National Youth Leadership Training, mentored younger Scouts and helped teach advanced leadership principles rooted in teamwork, communication, and ethical decision-making. He also serves as an altar server at his parish and is a student-athlete at St. Edward High School, where he competes as a rower and has advanced to national-level competition; and WHEREAS, Andrew has been an example to his peers through his hard work, leadership, discipline, and loyalty to his Scout Troop 225. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WESTLAKE, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: Section 1: That the Mayor and the Council of the City of Westlake hereby commend Andrew Bedell on the occasion of receiving the rank of Eagle Scout. Section 2: That the Clerk of Council be and she is hereby directed to forward a signed copy of this Resolution to Andrew Bedell. Section 3: That it is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to this legislation were adopted in an open meeting of this Council and that all deliberations of this Council and of any of its Committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements, including Section 10, Article XI of the Charter of the City of Westlake.
