WHEREAS, the 2026 Budget included $ 600, 000 to refurbish Lakewood' s 2010 Fire Engine that currently has 86, 000 miles; and WHEREAS, updated pricing has increased the estimate to refurbish the 2010 Fire Engine to 700, 000; and WHEREAS, the Lakewood Fire Department Apparatus Committee recommends trading in the 2010 Fire Engine toward the purchase of a 2020 Fire Engine with 5, 000 miles for a credit of $80, 000 for a total purchase price after trade-in of $580,000 which includes all necessary upgrades and customization; and WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 2. 12 of the Third Amended Charter of the City of Lakewood, this Council by a vote of at least two thirds of its members determines that this Resolution is an emergency measure and that it shall take effect immediately, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety, and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that it is in the best interest of the City to approve this purchase before additional increases are incurred; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: Section 1. The Director of Finance is hereby authorized to sell, through trade- in, a 2010 Pierce Velocity Fire Engine toward the purchase of a 2020 E-One Typhoon Fire Engine. Section 2. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this Resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such delib- erations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements. Section 3.
