Docusign Envelope ID: 693D847E- 4D9E- 8COC- 8199- DD99D3BF2209 Baker, Bixenstine, Bullock, RESOLUTION NO. 2026- 36 BY: Evans, Kepple, Steiner, Strebig A RESOLUTION to take effect immediately provided it receives the affirmative vote of at least two- thirds of the members of Council, or otherwise to take effect at the earliest period allowed by law, authorizing the Mayor or the Director of Planning & Development to apply to the Cuyahoga County Community Development Supplemental Grant Program for a $ 50, 000 grant to be used for the improvements to the Webb Park tennis court, located at 1301 Webb Road, by replacing the existing tennis court with a new court striped for both tennis and pickleball along with new fencing. WHEREAS, on June 11, 2026, the proposed grant application was presented in a public forum at Web Park; and WHEREAS, the Webb Park Tennis Court Project involves the removal of the existing dilapidated tennis court and providing a new court striped for both tennis and pickleball and fencing; and WHEREAS, the project is listed in the 2026 Comprehensive Budget Document as a 2027 project and will provide an updated facility accessible to the park visitors, particularly those residents near the park; and WHEREAS, as set forth in Section 2. 12 of the Third Amended Charter of the City of Lakewood, this Council by a vote of at least two thirds of its members determines that this ordinance is an emergency measure and that it shall take effect immediately, and that it is necessary for the immediate preservation of the public property, health, and safety and to provide for the usual daily operation of municipal departments in that this application is necessary to move this project forward, now, therefore BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF LAKEWOOD, OHIO: Section 1. The Mayor or Director of Planning & Development is hereby authorized to prepare and apply for the Cuyahoga County Community Development Supplemental Grant Program for a $ 50,000 grant to be used for proposed improvements at Webb Park. Section 2. The Mayor or the Director of Planning & Development are hereby authorized and directed at entering into all agreements as may be necessary and appropriate for obtaining this financial assistance. Section 3. It is found and determined that all formal actions of this Council concerning and relating to the passage of this resolution were adopted in an open meeting of this Council, and that all such deliberations of this Council and of any of its committees that resulted in such formal action were in meetings open to the public in compliance with all legal requirements.
