RECORD OF PROCEEDINGS Minutes of Lawrence Township Trustees Regular Meeting June 11, 2026 The Trustees of Lawrence Township met in regular session at 7:00PM. in the Charles E. Lundenberger Memorial Meeting Room. The meeting was called to order by Chairman Trustee Ackerman. All Trustees were present. Minutes from the May 28, 2026 meeting were approved. PUBLIC SPEAKS Township resident Lori Feeney advised the Trustees that she is collecting signatures for a petition to add a Constitutional Amendment to the ballot to prohibit AI data centers in Lawrence Township, if any wants to sign. Tom Klingaman, Mayor of Zoar asked Trustees for help from the road crew to work on 5th Street prior to it being paved. Zoar will provide materials if the Township provides labor. Sally Storad, Roxanne Kane and Nikki Moore, members of the Zoning Commission asked Trustees for clarification on Zoning Resolution 26-02, and were advised to proceed with the current wording and asked Trustees to consider a Facebook Page for the Zoning Commission to be able to update residents on issues. Township resident Nikki Moore advised Trustees that several neighbors on Northwood have asked her to check with them about options they have for speeding cars on Northwood. Trustees have asked the Tuscarawas County Sheriff to check the area. Bolivar Fire Chief Lynch advised Trustees that he inspected the new liquor store on St. Rt. 212, some items need repaired and was told those repairs would be done this week. Township resident Kevin Anslow asked about speed cameras and thanked Trustees and road crew for all their work. MEETING Ritterbeck made a motion, seconded by Ackerman for the Township to provide labor to help the Village of Zoar with work on 5th Street prior it being paved, with Zoar providing all materials. Ackerman: yes; Haueter: yes; Ritterbeck: yes. Motion passed. Road Superintended Myers advised Trustees that he received an estimate from Action Now to spray the walking trail and parking lots for $750. Haueter made a motion, seconded by Ritterbeck to approve Action Now spraying. Ackerman: abstained; Haueter: yes; Ritterbeck: yes. Motion passed. Myers advised Trustees they are working on dry patch preparing for chip & seal and paving and started the second round of mowing along sides of roads and ditching. Zoning Inspector Weekley advised Trustees the Zoning Commission will have a public hearing in August regarding data centers, Zoning Commission discussed the fence at the Mash Factory and he will call them about the type of fence they can install that would be zoning approved and still be allowed to provide alcohol per those regulations, and was asked by Trustee Ackerman to check on the ongoing garage sale on Ft. Laurens. Trustee Ritterbeck thanked Todd Reynolds and Mike Haueter from the Bolivar Main Street Association for their work on the Strawberry Festival. Ritterbeck advised he has received several emails from Kali Myers of TV Baseball Softball Association forwarding them to the Trustees regarding security cameras and no trespassing signs at the ball fields in Lawrence Township to help deter the vandalism going on. Ritterbeck made a motion, seconded by Haueter to participate in the Tuscarawas County Health Department mosquito spray. Ackerman: no; Haueter: yes; Ritterbeck: yes. Motion passed. Ritterbeck thanked the road crew for their help with the driveway at the Commons Pool. Administrative Assistant Betty Millikan was asked when she will be putting together another newsletter and she indicated in the fall. Fiscal Officer Ackerman recommended the Records Retention Commission meet at 6:45 pm on Thursday, June 25 prior to the Trustee meeting. A motion to adjourn was made and so ordered.
