A New Neighborhood Is Taking Shape on North Olmsted's Western Edge

More than 60 homes on a cluster of new streets in Olmsted Township have tapped into the North Olmsted sewer system since early 2024, tracing the quiet rise of a new residential neighborhood that is still adding residents today.
Since February 2024, a new neighborhood has been quietly taking shape on North Olmsted's western border. More than 60 homes spread across a cluster of new streets — Daisy Lane, Garden Path, Sunset Drive, and Grand View Drive — have connected to the regional sewer system through permits filed with the city's engineering department. The most recent permit was filed just days ago, on April 9.
The permits, classified as sanitary tap-ins, offer a rare window into new home construction that often goes unreported. Each one represents a newly built home completing its connection to the sewer infrastructure — one of the final steps before a home is ready for occupancy. Together, they trace the arc of a subdivision that has been filling in lot by lot for more than two years.
The earliest permits cluster on Daisy Lane in late February 2024, with more than two dozen homes eventually connecting along that street alone. By spring, nearby Grand View Drive appeared in the record. By summer, Sunset Drive — running parallel to Daisy Lane — began generating its own wave of permits. Garden Path became the focus through late 2025 and into 2026.
The geography tells a coherent story. All of the addresses sit within a tight footprint in Olmsted Township's 44138 ZIP code, just west of the North Olmsted city line. The streets themselves don't appear on older maps, suggesting they were laid out as part of a planned development. While the permits don't name a developer or builder, the pattern is consistent with a phased single-family subdivision.
The pace of development has been steady — typically a handful of new tap-ins per month. The build-out still appears to have room to run: gaps between earlier permits along several streets remain, and new addresses continue to file. For North Olmsted, the development represents a notable expansion of the city's infrastructure footprint, even if the homes themselves sit just outside the city limits. Each tap-in connects a new household to the city's sewer system — and to the community.
