CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED 
RESOLUTION NO.2026 - 003 
By: Mayor Jones 
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN 
AGREEMENT WITH NRG CURTAILMENT SOLUTIONS, INC. TO 
PROVIDE ELECTRIC DEMAND RESPONSE PROVIDER SERVICES AT 
THE WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT FOR APPLICABLE 
PROGRAMS AVAILABLE FROM PJM INTERCONNECTION, LLC. 
RELATING TO ENERGY, CAPACITY AND OTHER ANCILLARY 
SERVICES. 
WHEREAS, energy demand response programs incentivize electricity customers to 
temporarily reduce or shift their power usage during peak demand times, helping stabilize the 
grid, lower costs, and support clean energy; and 
WHEREAS, participants in energy demand response programs will be paid (bill credits, 
financial incentives) for lowering load during grid stress; and 
WHEREAS, Wastewater Treatment Plant Superintendent Brian Blum, under the 
direction of Director of Public Service Kevin Kearney, has researched the benefits of the City's 
wastewater treatment plant being enrolled in a Demand Response Program and find it to be in the 
City's best interests; and 
WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of this Administration that the City enter into an 
agreement with NRG Curtailment Solutions, Inc. to provide electric demand response services at 
the wastewater treatment plant; and 
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into an 
agreement with NRG Curtailment Solutions, Inc. for the reasons set forth herein. 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF 
NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: 
SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement 
with NRG Curtailment Solutions, Inc. to provide energy demand response services at the 
wastewater treatment plant pursuant to the agreement on file in the office of Director of Public 
Service. Said agreement shall be in the form and substance as on file, with only such changes in 
form and substance that are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the 
Director of Law. The character of the agreement as not being substantially adverse to the City 
shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the agreement by the Mayor and the 
approval of the contract by the Director of Law. 
SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the 
earliest period allowed by law upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
