CITY OF NORTH OLMSTEED 
RESOLUTION NO 2024 - 72

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO MAKE AN 
APPLICATION ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED 
TO PARTICIPATE IN THE OHIO PUBLIC WORKS COMMISSION 
STATE 
CAPITAL 
IMPROVEMENT 
AND/OR 
LOCAL 
TRANSPORTATION 
IMPROVEMENT 
PROGRAMS; 
FURTHER 
AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT FUNDS, IF AWARDED, 
AND 
TO 
EXECUTE 
A 
CONTRACT 
AS 
REQUIRED; 
AND 
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. 
 
WHEREAS, the Ohio Public Works Commission offers opportunities for 
municipal participation and funding for capital improvement and transportation 
improvement programs; and 
 
WHEREAS, the administration intends to apply for funding the resurfacing of 
Lorain Road between Stearns Road and Canterbury Road; and 
 
            WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to apply for 
such funding and, if granted, to further authorize the Mayor to execute a contract required 
to accept such funding. 
 
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE 
CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, STATE OF OHIO, 
THAT: 
 
SECTION 1. The Mayor be and she is hereby authorized to apply for funding from 
the Ohio Public Works Commission in order for the City of North Olmsted to participate in 
capital and transportation improvement programs. 
 
SECTION 2.  That the Mayor be and she hereby is authorized to accept the said 
funding, if awarded, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted and to execute a contract, if 
required. 
 
SECTION 3.  That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure 
immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for 
the further reason that the grant deadline is August 1, 2024, and further provided it receives 
the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in 
force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
