[2023-154 Grant County Planning.pdf] CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - 154 By: Mayor Jones A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT TO FILE AN APPLICATION TO CUYAHOGA COUNTY FOR GRANT FUNDING FOR PLANNING SERVICES FOR THE MIXED USE OVERLAY ZONING AMENDMENT AT GREAT NORTHERN MALL AND, IF AWARDED, FURTHER AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT TO ACCEPT THE GRANT FUNDS, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the Cuyahoga County Planning Department offers grant funding opportunities to provide for technical or planning services to be performed, subject to matching funds of 20% by the City, to be determined after the scope of service is mutually agreed upon; and WHEREAS, potential projects included within the scope of possible funding include Targeted Zoning Code Analyses or Chapter Updates, including Business District Revitalization Plans to reimagine business districts. This includes a review of the City of North Olmsted’s New District Mixed Use Chapter to be developed around Great Northern Mall (including Lorain Road from Great Northern Blvd to Country Club Boulevard); and WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the City of North Olmsted to make application for said grant funding and to authorize the Mayor to enter into an Agreement, if necessary, for acceptance of same if awarded. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: The Director of Economic and Community Development is hereby authorized to make application for Cuyahoga County Planning Department Grant funding for Targeted Zoning Code Analyses and / or Chapter Updates, and, specifically, the drafting / review of New District Mixed Use Chapter to be considered around Great Northern Mall, and, if awarded, the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement, on behalf of the City of North Olmsted if necessary, to accept and secure grant funding.
