Dear Mr. Gareau,

Enclosed please find the final distribution check to the City of North Olmsted on behalf of the
Oxcart Food Pantry in the amount of $92,612.37 from The Linda Sue Gregson Trust. Also, enclosed
is a Receipt of Final Distribution indicating that the City of North Olmsted has received its final
distribution from the Trust. Please sign the Receipt on the line indicated with a red “Sign Here” sticker
and return it to our office in the enclosed, self-addressed, stamped envelope.

Ruth Mortensen, as the Trustee of the Trust, will be filing a 2023 Federal and State Income
Tax Return with the proper taxing authorities for the income received by the Trust in 2023. Asa
residual beneficiary of the Trust, the City of North Olmsted will receive a final Schedule K-1 from
the Trust which includes its share of the income that should be reported on its income tax return
and its share of the deductions which may be used on its income tax return for the 2023 tax year.

RESOLUTION NO. 2023 - 72

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ACCEPT A GIFT, ON 
BEHALF OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, FOR THE BENEFIT OF 
THE OXCART FOOD PANTRY, FROM THE TRUSTEE OF THE LINDA 
SUE GREGSON TRUST, IN THE AMOUNT OF $92,612.37, AND 
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. 
 
 
 
WHEREAS, Legal counsel for the Linda Sue Gregson Trust has informed the City of 
North Olmsted that the Oxcart Food Pantry is the recipient of a donation in the amount of 
$92,612.37; and 
 
 
 
 
WHEREAS, the Mayor requests that Council recognize and accept this generous 
donation from the Linda Sue Gregson Trust, pursuant to Section 131.06 of the Administrative 
Code, and join her expression of gratitude on behalf of the City of North Olmsted, the Oxcart 
Pantry and the entire community; and 
 
 
WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor’s acceptance of this 
donation in an amount over $1,000.00 with the sincerest appreciation of Council. 
 
 
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THIS CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY 
OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: 
 
 
SECTION 1:  That the City of North Olmsted authorizes the Mayor to accept a donation 
from the Linda Sue Gregson Trust in the amount of $92,612.37 to be used by the Oxcart Food 
Pantry and further authorizes the Mayor to execute any documentation necessary or appropriate 
to document receipt of such donation. 
 
SECTION 2:  That the Clerk of Council initiate, on behalf of this Council and the City 
of North Olmsted, to direct correspondence thanking the Trustee for their generous donation to 
the Oxcart Food Pantry.  
 
SECTION 3:  That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure 
immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the 
further reason that the Oxcart Food Pantry may put this gift to immediate use; and further 
provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall 
take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor.
