He went on to explain that about $5,000.000 in Cash Transfers that were approved by Council in March, are done in traunches. The first one was done a few weeks ago, another will be done in November, and at the Special meeting at the end of the year. He stated that again, this is just the second traunch of the $5,000.000 of the approved General Fund Transfers that the General Fund subsidizes on. Councilwoman Lime – Asked about the accrued overtime and sick leave funds. Auditor Day – Stated that the funds are there to cover mostly large retirements, mostly from the Safety Forces, and that 75 is budgeted every year, 50 now and 25 will be used by the end of the year. He stated that we have had these funds around for quite a while. Councilwoman Lime – Asked for an explanation of the Payroll Stabilization Fund. Auditor Day – There is a 27th pay that occurs every eleven to twelve years. He went on to explain that the last time this happened was in 2020 during Covid. He stated that depending where the calendar falls there can be an extra pay period, and for that reason each year $150,000 is put into the Payroll Stabilization Fund to cover the extra pay period.
